No, sorry. It’s only been necessary for a visa since April. I notice they say allow 2 months before your trip, which is quicker than when visas were necessary in the past before visas were dropped for several years. That put us off going, but now it’s not on any travel wish list for us, we’ve seen so much of South America.
Nancy, Yes I did two a couple of moths back for my wife and I using the Tauck instructions. Only Issue I had was getting the Brazil aothorities to accept the digital photos I sent. Seemed particularly fuusy. i.e. they wouldn't accept the photos used in our US passports. I had multiple offerings after that before the pictures were acceptable for them. Really particulat about the space above the head, teeth showing!! and whitness of the background.
It was a very easy process. Just follow the instructions. I had the same issue with the photo, in that I had to submit 3 photos before it was accepted.
I recently submitted the info for the visa for Brazil. I too had difficulty with the clarity of my photo. I couldn’t figure out if my subsequent uploads were actually ‘sent’. I ultimately spoke with VFS Global (the application has an option to speak with a representative) and was advised I could pay an additional $35 for personal assistance. I paid the money, made a virtual appointment and was told everything was fine! I received the Visa (online) within 2 hours!
There is talk of an Amazon tour with friends. I checked the visa website and see that Brazil now requires to see a bank statement with at least $2000 in it as part of the visa process. Has anyone had to do that yet! Most of the group would be British and don’t need visas. It certainly puts me off having to expose a bank statement to a foreign country because of potential fraud.
Not for visa purposes, but I have had my financial institution prepare and certify a letter documenting that there were sufficient funds in my account(s). Of course, personal account numbers are not shown.
@British I recently processed two Visas for Brazil and parted with no financial info. All I remember having to supply beyond the normal passport type info was the Tauck itinerary<
Thank you. I got the information from the official site, so I was confused. As it happens, the tour is not finalized yet and is in 2027, so it’s a long way off and Brazil might stop requiring visas again by then.
Just did the Brazil visa - it required downloads of my passport info, my photo (full head with visible ears and non-smiling) and my airline reservations as well as the dates I was to be in Brazil. No financial info or specifics of my stay in Brazil.

I wonder why they did that. Making it hard to get a visa is going to affect their tourist revenue.
Usually because the US is charging them for visas to come here

Thank you Nancy! Maybe I will be going on the Amazon if the trip comes to fruition in 2027
