VISA help

Trying to complete my VISA. When I upload my picture (which I took myself on my phone) I get this "Portrait photo was captured from another source. Your application may be rejected. Please upload another photo" What does that mean??

Also...anyone here going on the VCT trip starting 12/22/25?

jamten I recently applied for my Vietnam visa. It was granted the next day. I used an iPhone selfie photo. I did not receive an error message. I'll be on the 12/22 tour. Looking forward to meeting you.

There are quite a few YouTube tutorials in the Vietnam evisa process, and I found some very helpful. One of the photo hints was to crop it so that shoulders show, but not much below them.

PureLuxury Where are you coming from? I'm travelling with a friend from Boston. Flying to Hong Kong to spend several days then to Hanoi to start the tour.

Hi, jamten! I received that exact same message when I was applying for my eVisa. It turned out that the extension on the photo automatically uploaded as a JPG. I changed it to JPEG and the site accepted it. Very strange but that’s all I did and it worked. So, it’s worth a try!

jamten I'm coming from New Orleans. I lived in Boston a decade ago--it's my second favorite US city. I'll be meeting up with a friend I met on the Portrait of India tour and another friend who the first friend and I met on the Northern India & Nepal tour. I think we secured the 3 allocated single rooms. We have a blast together--it will be fun! Looking forward to meeting you and your friend. Safe Travels
