Question about position of electric outlets

Sailing on the HS Treasures on May 17th. Does anyone know/remember if the there is a night table on both sides of the bed, each having access to 110 or 220 power. Trying to sort out my electrical needs for the trip.

  • There are night tables on each side of the bed. I know there is at least one (1) outlet there and several more throughout the room, at least in the cabin category I stay in.

If you go to Tauck’s website and view the schematic for your ship, you will see a listing of your cabin’s amenities. I don’t recall if it gives a count of the outlets.

  • Every cabin has nightstands for both sides of the bed with a combination of electric outlets and light switches. But you might not have both 110 and 220 on both sides. If the bed is set up as two twins they move a nightstand in between so that can affect access to the electrics.

All cabins have both types of outlets but exact number and location can vary by cabin class and ship. We always bring 2 European adapters so that we don't have an issue charging whatever we have with us where ever it's most convenient. Also if you have a hotel stay as part of your cruise, many hotels only have 220 outlets. Some might have USB outlets.

  • Enjoy your trip!

  • The bathroom only has a European type plug. The amount of 110V outlets is marginal in number. I typically will bring two adapters which are the larger size type with a least two USB ports and one 110 outlet. that seems to work well. I have in the past also brought a small extension cord with an outlet or two and several USB ports. The buses may have USB ports with each seat, but be advised these are USB-A not C. In addition, the hotels as mentioned above typically will not have a 110 outlet but many of them now will have USB-A ports bedside. For by day bag I will have one of the very small adapters with the US power "adapter."

  • I'm almost certain the outlets on either side of the bed are 220. If there is a 110 there it will be in addition to the 220. The ones in the bathroom are only 220 and the ones by the front door where you charge the VOX are both 220 and 110, IIRC. I also plan for everything being 220 and pleasantly surprised if I find a 110 USA-type outlet that is conveniently located for the device I'm charging.

  • Does your device automatically change for different outlet rated. Most usual things do…phone, camera, iPad computer. If so, the outlet rating doesn’t matter.

  • I am in cabin 220 on the Ruby deck. My principle concern was if there is power ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BED. I have plenty of adapters. If there wasn't power on both sides, I would bring a small extension cord to go under the bed.

  • Mr. Morris - I can’t remember if there is. It might be best to call Tauck. Good luck to you.

  • Other fittings include bedside cabinets with a drawer and open shelf, and there are individual reading lights on each side of the bed. The onboard voltage is, very usefully, both 220 volts and 110 volts and the cabins have a good number of well-placed sockets, both U.S. and European (North Americans and other overseas passengers will need to bring adapters to use the latter). A daily program, outlining the following day's timetable, including shore excursions, mealtimes and other activities is left in the cabin during the nightly turn-down service.

  • Cabin 220 would be a Category 6 which we've had a few times. I'll attach some pictures that might help. The first 2 are from cabin 205 on the Sapphire. The 3rd is also cabin 205 but on the Espirit. Note that on these older ships with Cat 6 cabins, there is a 3 drawer dresser with counter that also has outlets. No sure why they didn't include these on the newer Grace, Joy, etc but we really found them useful and hope they include them on the new ships coming.

  • There is power on both sides. One side for sure has both 110 and 220. The other I think just has 220

  • Thank you everyone
