Made it through pre tsa at 430 am. Longest non pre check lines I have ever seen. Thank the TSA agents when you see them
A newsflash just reported that the TSA is saying the government don’t need to intervene, they will review daily depending on their staffing levels.
TSA is bad enough but so stupid global entry saves on manpower. What, are they taking the computer kiosks off line?
This is just part of the DHS budget debate. They've turned off TSA-PRE and Global Entry to inconvenience travelers so that the travelers will put pressure on Democrats to approve the DHS budget without limitations on ICE.
[But I suppose everyone knows that.]

Shutting down the government is a tantrum that is impossible to justify.
While we very much like using Global Entry, there is another slightly-less-good alternative: the CBP MPC app. We've used this when travelling with Grandkids who didn't have Global Entry. At least at our nearby airport (Dulles), it gets you into a very short line compared to the usual scrum.
I returned home from Greece on Feb 27 and Global Entry was open at my airport.

Excellent! I wonder why? Maybe some local funding support? We'll be coming in through Dulles in mid-April which I'd hope would be resolved by then.
