Cruising the Seine plus Paris and London
Hello,
The first group of this tour in 2026 leaves soon. For those of you who are on these early tours, have you received any detail of what you actually see in Paris? There seems to be a morning bus-type tour of the highlights of the city with an open afternoon. I am taking this tour in late September and will have a private guide for our extended post tour days. I don't want to pay to visit sites we might see on the tour. I did try to call Tauck and they said they won't know until 60 days before the tour. I am curious to know what those of you who are traveling earlier have found out.
Enjoy your trip!

We took this cruise back before covid and it has changed a fair amount. Looking at the itinerary, yes it's likely to be a bus tour pointing out those sights. If the itinerary doesn't include words like "enjoyed a guided tour of XX sight" then it's just an exterior visual. You may be able to leave the coach near some of those sights and make your own way back to the ship so you can enjoy the afternoon seeing what you want. We did that in London during a drive around and the TD had the driver let us off at the Tower of London. Talk to the TD and be sure you understand how to get back to the ship. It usually docks downriver of the Eiffel tower near a couple of different metro stops. Bon Voyage.
I took this trip last April. There was the highlights bus ride around the city in the morning (no getting off the bus to actually VISIT sites) and the option to be left off at Notre Dame or go back to the riverboat. Of course, things may have changed over time.
In Apr 2023, we had the same experience as Goddess described but with no opportunity to leave the coach. The purpose of these bus tours is to give guests an overview of landmarks and neighborhoods.
Afterwards, we had lunch on the ship then went off on a choice of excursions. It looks like you have a free afternoon to explore on your own. Enjoy.
We are doing this tour in about a week. I think as said above it is a drive by bus tour that does not include getting off of the bus.
Enjoy the tour, Sealord. I look forward to reading about your experiences.
