Can you tell me what you did during the day between Safari outings? I’m headed out in August.
Hi, if you mean the day before the tour starts? The Gran Melia has a small coffee plantation attached to it and gardens. Behind that, there is a sort of craft village where you can take a guided tour and buy things, very nice people. There is a huge swimming pool which is absolutely freezing, when our grandson came out he was blue with the cold and shivered like crazy, we had to wrap him up and cuddle him. There is a nice spa. Most of us who have been to Arusha would not recommend a tour of the town or the local market which are groups of people with goods on the ground to sell, many old clothing and sneakers etc that I remember. Also don’t underestimate how tired you wil feel from the jet lag.
You could take a tour of Arusha National park which takes most of the day, very different from the rest of the safari landscape you will see.
Lunch, R & R
In addition to eating and R & R, getting cleaned up, because there isn't time to shower before early game drives.
I shower before early game drives.
