We are flying Qatar to doha to Kilimanjaro in mid October, hoping flights are still leaving out of Atlanta. Any idea how soon would they cancel the flights before the trip.
Also have another question on the last day of the classic tour we fly from Masai mara to Nairobi. can anyone tell me what time do we get to Kenya airport? we have an 4 o'clock flight out of Nairobi want to make sure we have time. Does Tauck transfer our suitcases to hotel we will be at while we wait for our flights, appreciate if someone could explain how it works. thanks

We don’t have much hope that Qatar air will be flying again by October. We had a trip booked for November but cancelled it, not the flights. We do not have refundable tickets but are waiting to cancel them until as late as possible so that the one year voucher to rebook it as far out as possible.
We met up with friends who live in Tanzania this past Saturday, they usually fly via Qatar but of course no flights, so I think they flew here there and everywhere to get here.
We have flights from Boston to Kilimanjaro via Doha in June. So far those flights have not been canceled
American Airlines has cancelled its Philly<->Doha flights until some time in 2027. https://www.thestreet.com/travel/american-airlines-cancels-two-flights-until-2027-refunds-available. (We bailed out too soon.)

We got our money back today, it took just two days.
From the itinerary on the Tauck website: Tour ends: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Fly from the Masai Mara to Nairobi this morning for your journey home. We have reserved a day room for you at Sankara Nairobi, Autograph Collection; depart the hotel for
the airport after dinner. Allow 3 hours for flight check-in. I also saw this on my Journey Summary: “Flights should depart after 7:00 PM.”
With a 4pm departure and needing 3 hours to check-in, I’d call your TA or Tauck and let them know.
Years ago we flew from Dulles via Addis Ababa to JRO on Ethiopian Air. Our return flight from Nairobi - Addis Ababa - Dulles left about 5:30 so we left the Hotel mid-afternoon after lunch, a shower, slight repack, and short nap in the provided day room (almost everyone had late flights and had dinner at the hotel). We had plenty of time.

The Full Itinerary for the Tauck K-T tour includes the following for Day 12 after the balloon ride:
“...Back on the ground. Look for lions, impalas, cheetahs, giraffes, and the other animals you've come to love as you return overland to the camp for lunch and an afternoon at leisure – and later on an evening game drive in the bush.”
The next sentence raised my curiosity (caps are mine):
“After returning to your TENTED CAMP, join us for a farewell reception and dinner.”
Does anyone have pictures of this TENTED CAMP? Is it really a tent? The accommodations show as “JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge”.
Not a big deal, just curious.
Our flight doesn't depart until 11 PM so we will be enjoying the day room at Sankara Nairobi hotel until then.
Google it and check out the photos on the website. Yes, you will be staying in a "tented camp" - Yes, technically it is a tent, but has wood floors, en-suite, and is glamping!
