Suggested Comfortable walking shoes/sneakers brands

Greetings all. I am looking forward to taking America's Canyonlands tour, Oct 2026. Does anyone have any suggestions re: comfortable (women's) walking shoes/sneakers brands ? Thank you.

  • All of us have really different feet and what's comfortable for one isn't for another. I'd recommend finding a good quality shoe store in your area that stocks brands like Merrell, Keens, Dansko, etc and see what works for you. I have a pair of Merrell low rise hiking shoes with Vibram soles which are excellent non-slip options. I live out west and have toured most of the National Parks wearing them.

  • Everyone’s feet are different. What is comfortable for one may be uncomfortable for another. Don’t take white shoes. They’ll get dirty from there’s clay soil on the ground. Nbactrip line this, I happen to enjoy Hokas or New Balance. I also wear waterproof tennis shoes.

  • My Merrill’s work well for me.

  • Merrill type shoes or Keens closed toe sandals are mostly all I take on these kind of tours including Canyonlands. Always a slight chance of snow in October.

  • Greetings everyone, Thank you for your foot wear suggestions - all good, very helpful and I have a number of options to explore.

  • I like Merrill’s and think Keen’s run small but I think it would benefit you to try them on and see what feels best.

  • Merrell's and Salomon's are my two favorite brands of comfortable activity shoes for home and traveling. They are supportive and lightweight with ample room in the toe box.
