Danube River Cruise - Budapest to Amsterdam Credit Card or Euros???

We have been to Italy and Greece over the last three years. Greece, in particular, preferred credit cards to Euros.

We are going to visit numerous countries. Should we invest in Euros or will credit cards be more welcome????

Budapest doesn't use Euros. Will they take credit cards?

Are there countries that we should NOT use a credit card?

Thank you in advance!

Credit cards, credit cards, credit cards. You will need a little local currency to be used in the out-of-the-way places where you might be shopping.

Europe is very credit card friendly. We only use cash for small purchases like postcards or an ice cream. There are also ATMs everywhere. Just make sure its a bank ATM. Rick Steves website has great tips on money in Europe. We had some Hungarian money and I ended up trading it to one of our TDs who gave my a great exchange rate.

On recent trips to Europe, we have not had to use physical credit cards, they all use the cards in the wallet on your phone.
