Bed sizes in hotel rooms
This will be our first Tauck tour. My husband is 6'4" and we always request King size beds whenever we travel. We're concerned about the bed sizes on this tour. Would someone please tell me what is offered by the hotels on this tour, and whether or not King size beds are available? Thank you so much.

All the hotels we stayed in for that tour were very modern. I'm not as tall as your husband but I don't remember any of the beds being short. The beds were large, either king or queen.
Were you able to request bed sizes, or were you assigned rooms?
In my experience of land tours the hotel assigns rooms based on availability. Every hotel is different with different room types and beds. Have never had a bed for my husband and I smaller than a queen and often they are king. You might want to spend time reviewing the hotel's website, room amenities and if all else fails contact them directly.
I would also put in a request to Tauck, it’s not unreasonable at your height. We have had beds as small as a full size on Tauck tours in the past,
On some tours, when making the reservation, we have been asked if we prefer two queens or a king-sized bed.
We just returned from this tour. My first comment is that the people in Croatia and Slovenia are tall - basketball player tall. We had king size beds in all locations with the largest bed I have ever seen in Rovinj. It was as large as two queen size (or maybe two king size beds) side to side. We kidded that you could sleep in the bed and still have room in the middle for your entire family.
Also in that hotel the room safe was placed so high in the cabinet that while i could reach the numbers I could not see what was in it. My husband suggested that I stand on chair. (I let him check that we had emptied the entire safe before leaving.)
Of more concern would be the availability of a shower. In many hotels you need to get into the bathtub to take a shower. Some of the tubs are quite high which can make it difficult to get in or out. If that would be difficult, you should request a shower.
That type of tub is common all over Europe, with no grab bars or anything to hold on to.
Yep, recently badly bruised my upper thigh in such a bath.
One of my complaints about hotels and certain cabins on ships is the tub shower. I now always ask for a walk-in shower. At our age, getting in and out is a problem and the tub often has a curved bottom that makes it difficult to stand in. And, as Goddess mentioned, often with no grab bars.
There was one time on a Silversea cruise that we were upgraded to a large suite, but it came with the absolute worse tub shower. The shower head was in the ceiling above the middle of the tub, but there was only a glass partition at the front half of the tub. No matter what we tried, whenever we took a shower, water got all over the bathroom floor. Maybe that's why no one else wanted that suite
