Layers are the key. Did trip in July 2021. Temperatures varied from 40s to 70s during the day over the course of the tour.

You can look through all the old threads related to this tour for pictures to see what people are wearing under various conditions.

Again your clothes should be able to adopt to a broad temperature variation.

Yes layers. Almost everywhere we go, we take a puffer vest, puffer jacket and lightweight rain jacket. They fold up in their bags or into themselves, weigh nothing , and can easily be carried in a lightweight foldable backpack we carry around. Hat and gloves just in case, but the reverse too, sunhat! The year we went to Iceland, it was the rainiest summer they had had in a while. Sturdy shoes of or your feet.

We took the June 15-22 cruise this year, and yes, layers are the trick. Temps were mostly in the 40's for us, dipped briefly to the high 30's, and occasionally reached the low 50's. With rain and lots of wind. We wore long sleaved shirt, fleece vest, jacket, and rain coat most of the time, occasionally shedding the raincoat. But others have experienced warmer weather, so you need to be flexible.

Did a land tour ( not Tauck ) . Iceland is Fabulous . Mid June , so sun was directly overhead . Usually cloudy in the 40”s which sounds cold but a light fleece with wind jacket / rain jacket was plenty . Most of group was from very warm areas - Miami , Arizona etc and they dress similar and were not cold . When the sun came out , the temperature rose very quickly and became very warm , I believe because the sun angle was directly overhead . As others have said - layers with a backpack to put them in . Water prof shoes are a must .

We’re headed to Iceland and a cruise to Greenland this month. I suspect cooler temperatures with wind since we’ll be on the sea.

It is windy and cool, but we were lucky with sunshine most days on June 8-15 2026.
