Arachnids in room at Elephant Camp

I am beginning to panic about tarantulas, large spiders, snakes, etc. getting into rooms at night in Elephant Camp as mentioned on blogs. Any experiences from anyone? Tour is next week.

I stayed at Elephant Camp. There were no critters in the tent. The staff responds quickly if you do need them. One afternoon warthogs? were thumping against my door. I didn’t know if I could shoo them away. I wanted to go to lunch.A staff member came right away. If you see a critter in your tent, I’m certain you can call for help.

There are no tarantulas in Africa.
If you have any animal wildlife near your tent, you should not attempt to go outside but call security and they will come and sort it out for you.
We have had two situations with elephants in Botswana . The first time we were walking back from dinner and an elephant was right by our tent. Security came and took us well away and managed to shoo it away. The second time it was actually the tent next to us in Camp Kalahari.. The tents were on stilts and you walked up steps to get in. Our neighbor had a huge male elephant at the bottom of her steps. She had to wait for quite a long time before it wandered away. Also in Botswana, there was a giraffe right by our hotel room door. We called security, they got it away and drove us to the dining area in a golf cart. There had been problems with giraffes at that resort. One woman was tossed in the air by a giraffe and severely injured.

Tarantulas don't bother you. We have plenty in Arizona. Leave them alone and they leave you alone - same with snakes. We are not on their food chain.
