Do you advise the Canadian Rockies tour without the addition of the Glacier National Park?

    There are several Canadian Rockies tours. We enjoyed the Grand Canadian Rockies tour so much that we did it twice and will gladly do it a third time.

    We haven't done the Canadian Rockies but have toured Glacier NP on our own and it was amazing. You're adding significant bus/travel time to see more so it depends on your tolerance for that. Its not clear if you're considering the shorter Best of the Canadian Rockies or one of the tours that includes Vancouver and train rides. Big difference there.

    I'd recommend the tour with Glacier. You stay at two different hotels in the park - one in the east one in the west. Seeing sunrise with the golden colors progressing on the mountains across Many Glacier Lake is worth rising early.

    For most of us we travelled a long way to get there. Why miss out on something so beautiful?

    If you are concerned about hotels....as with other US national parks, the hotels are more rustic than what you will experience in the Canadian parks with Fairmont hotels. However, I think that the scenery makes it all worthwhile. If you go to Yellowstone you are not staying at luxury lodges. The destination is the reason to go.
