Adapters/converters-Italy
We are going on Classic Italy in May. For things like iPads, iPhones, do we need adapters or converters? Also what about for things like hair dryers and flat irons? Have a few miscellaneous things that need charging as well. I know hotels have their own hair dryers, but I like to bring my own. Have dryer and flat iron that convert .

Fairly good article Sam though I see their hair dryer advice is a little mixed. I don't bring any heated hair appliances - the hotel one is fine - but if I did I certainly wouldn't bring one that wasn't dual voltage. Have known some who bought one in Europe and didn't have to bother with converters or adapters.
CaroP, we only bring adapters to charge our smartphones, ereaders, fitbits, etc. That's all you need if your items are dual voltage. We bring multiple ones to take advantage of what plugs we find. Sometimes it's easy to find outlets and others a bit of a search behind furniture. Also because we've been known to leave them behind by accident. I suspect most hotels have a stash of abandoned adapters to loan out.
I recently got my hair cut shorter than I’ve had in years, it’s the best thing I’ve done for all our travel.
