Kenya protests

Has anyone run into protests in Kenya. We are on the Great Migration tour starting on 8/3.

    JFitch not to worry.... Tauck knows about it and most likely they will not be anywhere near the area.

    I have no idea about the Kenya trip, but I'm sure that Tauck will not go there if it's not safe. They cancelled my trip to Turkey about a month before it was due to go because of the political situation. (I was able to apply all of the payment for my trip to a different trip at the same time. I had to be in Europe for a wedding anyway, so I wasn't looking for a refund.) I also know that they have cancelled their trips to Israel now. Such a shame -- on so many levels!

    I believe the Gov't caved and canceled the new taxes. Protests continue but to a lesser degree and are more focused on forcing the president to resign. They have been taking place in Uhuru Park. Unfortunately the Serena Nairobi is at the north end of the park, but the hotel grounds are walled, gated and guarded.

    We just left the Nairobi Serena on Friday. Nice hotel, good food. We saw no disturbances of any kind. The people in the hotel are very nice.
