European Plug Adapter on the MS Sapphire

edited August 20 in Seine River

I've never posted a link to a product on Amazon so not sure if I am doing it right. If this is a blank post, just ignore!

I just purchased this adapter. For anyone who as on this ship, do you think this will work in the cabins?

Many thanks!

Looks like it didn't work. Oh well. Thanks anyway. If moderators can delete the post, please do so.

  • All the cabins on Tauck/Scylla river cruise ships have European, US and USB outlets so you don't actually have to have anything.

  • Great, thank you, Claudia!

  • Copying/pasting on this forum is no different than any other site. If windows, highlight link, CTL-C (or right click mouse and select copy). then CTL-V (or right click mouse and paste)

  • have been on the Saphire twice. Basic European/two round plug adapter is fine.

The MS Inspire, not the Sapphire, but both are probably similar: (I'm sure I missed a few!)

    Cat 3, loft cabin:

Left side of the bed: up/down switches for disappearing TV, powered drapes, plus one 110V US receptacle and one 220V Euro receptacle with plug from clock radio:

Right night table- Euro receptacle. iPhone module and US-Euro adapter ready to plug in:

Shelf near door with Euro receptacle (VOX charger plugged in) and 110V US receptacle:

    Keurig hiding Euro receptacle:

    Euro receptacles in medicine cabinet:

US and Euro receptacles on credenza at foot of bed:

So we can have multiple US receptacles in a single location, we take one of these that has 4 US receptacles (If necessary, we use it with the appropriate adapter- It is important to remember, if plugged in to a Euro receptacle using an adapter, all outlets on the power strip will supply 220V, not 110V. Most electronic devices are dual voltage and will work fine, but any 110V-only appliances will be fried!) Most newer power strips, etc. now also have USB-A and USB-C 5.0v receptacles.

  • We always pack adapters to give up maximum flexibility to use what's available in our cabin. Also because all our cruises also include at least one night in a hotel which never have US outlets and only sometimes have USB outlets.

  • The Savor, Joy, Grace are the same design. There may be another. What is on one boat is on the other.
