Is activity level a real 2?
I read the tour description and Sam's itinerary of it but still would appreciate someone's opinion of the level or difficulty of the tour. Just returned from a Tauck tour labeled a 2 and it is clearly a 3, plus they had to up the Japan tour level. So my skepticism.

I think it is difficult to asses because it depends on each individual’s fitness and stamina. Example, we went on one tour and we thought it was one of the easiest Tauck tours we had ever been on (apart from Africa safari tours where there is no walking) A couple we got friendly with thought it was exhausting. There was not much walking, no early starts and we were on a ship, so there wasn’t even moving from hotel to hotel.
The Activity level is categorized as a 2.
The most strenuous time during this tour is at Iguazu Falls, both the Brazil side and Argentina side.
The Brazil side is broken into two days. One day includes a walk along the falls, the other days walking is at a bird sanctuary. There is also a helicopter ride or boat ride. These walks are each probably 1/2 of the total of the Argentina walks described below assuming you do all of the Argentina walks.
Here is a description from the online tours description Mobility section for the Argentina side:
To enjoy this tour's itinerary, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances, often over unpaved and uneven surfaces. There is a significant amount of walking on Day 6 during our excursion to Iguazu National Park. The walking is all on metal grated walkways or sidewalks, and there are many steps. You may choose to enjoy all three of the scheduled walks or just take one or two. The first walk, Superior Circuit, is very flat and is approximately 1¼ mi (2 km). The second walk, Devil's Throat, is mostly flat and is approximately ½ mi (.8 km). The final walk, Lower Circuit, has many steps, is very challenging, and is approximately ¾ mi (1.2 km). Total walking is approximately 2½ mi (4 km). Some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot. The amount of walking you do, however, is at your discretion.
All of the rest of the days of the tour, I believe to be easier from a walking perspective.
