luggage limitations

Going on Kenya and Tanzania Safari in October. Has anyone been able to determine the luggage weight limit for the on tour flights? I cannot find such information anywhere!

Yes there is information on luggage. Go to the tour page and open up the Before You Go tab and then open up Luggage, it's all there, weight limit for carry on and checked Tauck duffel bag on the Safari on tour flights

As said above (33 duffel, 15 backpack), we already own the Eagle Creek medium duffels that they issue. They only hold about thirty pounds unless you are bringing your free weights.

How soon, before the tour, does Tauck send the duffel bag? I don't go on the Kenya and Tanzania Safari until June 26th (for a June 28th start) but am leaving for Europe on June 12th. Hopefully, they don't wait until a couple of days before the safari.

Get in touch with Tauck, directly, now. They can arrange to send your documents when it suits you. I regularly leave home earlier than most of you guys do because I'm often stacking trips and I choose to go in to first base early. They even cope with me! Just let them know as soon as you can.

How many sleeps now?

Yes as Jan says, call Tauck ASAP. They usually send out the bag two weeks before departure. If you are leaving on the 12th, there is a chance you might not have it in time. There's no reason they can't send yours earlier, as long as you have paid your final bill. The duffel is a really nice Eagle Creek bag which comes in it's own very compact carry sack, retail about $80. We received our tour Booklet' today for our trip and we are getting excited and thinking about getting our packing list written.

Well Alan, as a matter of fact I don't think it does, but a previous Tauck duffel did, and a lovely designed bag it was with a side that zipped off and converted to a backpack, we used our a lot before the carry on liquids amount went to 3 ounces and then the tons of sunscreen my hubby needs stopped us using them as carryon
