Blue Danube - October 13, 2024
Hi y'all - Any forum folks on this river cruise ? We arrive 10/11 into Prague and plan to leisurely walk the city both days and take photos: Explore the Jewish Quarter and Charles Bridge areas and well as check out some local pubs and restaurants. Would be nice to have company when walking Old Town Square in the evening. Any fellow Taucksters feel free to join us. C U soon !!! Greg & Sue

Yes!! My sister and I are on the same cruise and are spending two extra days in Prague. We’ve got plans for both evenings, but our days are completely free and we don’t have anything specific picked out yet. Would love to hook up!
I too am booked on this Oct 13 Danube cruise.
Concerned about the impact of the epic flooding there now - any thoughts on how Tauck might adjust?
I’m surprised that no one on these tours has made comments on the Forum. River levels change rapidly, so it could all be back to a normal by now. Maybe call Tauck to see what has been affected currently and again just before the tour incase it affects any of your must see things on the itinerary.
We are also concerned about the flooding. We arrive in Budapest on Sept. 28, 2024 and we have not heard anything from Tauck. We're now calling the Tauck company for information.
I have been following the status of the Danube water levels because I have relatives going on a river cruise starting in Budapest at the end of the month. There are very useful discussions on the Cruise Critic river cruise forum and the Trip Advisor Budapest forum.
HeatherOster - we arrive at @ 2:10pm on 10/11 - will see if desk can provide you our names and room - always fun to walk the town with fellow Taucksters. Regarding flooding - I spoke with Tauck rep Thursday, and current trip had to make adjustments ( always a possibility on European rivers ). Looking at today's Budapest info: by Tuesday (9/24) water levels continue to recede below danger level. You can access Danube water levels and notice all stops show receding Danube. Hope for the best ! Plan to be flexible ! Be glad you chose Tauck, who have the means to carry out an alternate plan if needed. C U soon.
