Las Vegas final night

Is it practical to try to see an 8 PM show on the final day of the trip ? I wasn't sure what time we arrived and I see there is a final dinner.

  • No. You'd probably have time to show up, have an appetizer and a quick drink and say good bye but you'd likely miss the meal. so you will have to choose. You'll want to get to the show a little early and unless it is in the same hotel, you will need to factor in transit time which could be one hour on the strip depending on traffic.

  • We’ve had dinners at the Four Seasons beginning or end of a tour a couple of times and they have not been good. I say skip dinner and go to a show. Just be sure your TD knows. The hotel concierge can find hard to come by tickets for you!

  • Hi British! Can you please elaborate about the meals? We’re at the Four Seasons for both ends of the Canyonlands trip and I would have thought those meals would be great. Are they like being at a conference- your choice of chicken, beef or a vegetarian plate? Thanks for your expertise.

Our farewell dinner after Spirit of the Desert was at the Four Seasons. The meal was mediocre- choice of beef, chicken, or fish (and vegetarian?). Tauck is not known for the quality of its Welcome and Farewell meals. The best thing about the farewell was the excellent magician who entertained and interacted with the tour group before and during dinner.

The Four Seasons, itself, is a bit odd. It occupies the top floors, specifically floors 35 through 39, of the Mandalay Bay tower. This "hotel within a hotel" has a separate, non-gaming entrance, a dedicated lobby, and its own private elevators for guests- the elevator from the lobby takes you to the Four Seasons flours and bypasses the Mandalay Bay floors. The hotel is a non-gaming (casino-free) hotel. You must to to the lobby and find your way to a separated elevator bank. As one reviewer described, the door or hallway that connects the two properties can feel like a "tucked away secret door". This ensures that the Four Seasons remains a secluded, peaceful escape, even though it is directly next door to one of the Strip's largest and busiest resorts. To find the connecting hallway, you can ask the Four Seasons concierge or front desk staff for the specific directions. They can point you toward the path that leads to the dedicated elevators for the casino floor. It has is own pool but you also have access to the Mandalay Bay pool as well.

  • I cannot add any more than Alan has said. We’ve stayed in the Vegas Four Seasons a few times on Tauck tours. The Spa is nice.

  • Thank you both. The information about the hotel is very helpful.
