Tanzania Visa Application - Return Ticket
Hi everyone — I’m going on the Great Migration trip in July and am getting an early start on my Tanzania visa since it is valid for one year.
I have a question about the “Supporting Documents” section of the visa application. The application asks you to upload your “Return Ticket.”
Our departure from Tanzania is on a Tauck-arranged flight with AirKenya Express from Mwanza, Tanzania to Kisumu, Kenya. Tauck provided a two-page itinerary summary that includes this flight number, the full 10-day itinerary, and the local host contacts for both Tanzania and Kenya.
I’m assuming this is the document I should upload for the Return Ticket, since it shows the flight departing Tanzania. However, I’m wondering if that will be acceptable since the document is from Tauck rather than directly from the airline.
For context, I booked my international flights separately through Delta/KLM, and those only show my arrival into Tanzania and my departure from Nairobi, Kenya.
Has anyone in a similar situation used the Tauck itinerary successfully for this part of the visa application?
Thank you!

LilyZoe, I applied for my Tanzania e-visa today for my Great Migration safari in July with another company. For the return ticket requirement, I uploaded my confirmed Emirates booking PDF. I believe any confirmed onward travel document out of Tanzania with your name on it should satisfy this requirement.
Don't spend a lot of time on the itinerary you send. I made a one page composite of Tauck letter and list of stops and dates. They are just looking to screen out near-do-wells and other sorts of vagabonds.
And yet they let you in 🤪. Trying to be witty before Sam beats me to it. I’m in Vienna waiting to get on a river boat. One of our group is delayed and will arrive after the ship sails. I’m not sure how it will work out for her…sorry , I digress.
Lily, we have been to Tanzania 4 times. Years ago, we had to send away our passports to get visas. Last year was no problem, it’s certainly easier now, except the website kept crashing in the middle of the application and we had nine of them to do for our family, so it took several days of patience.
Not the case anymore! I applied for two yesterday and finished both in under 30 minutes. Easy.

Thanks everyone for your excellent feedback!
