I went through Frankfurt recently and hit some delays but it wasn't too bad. The total time spent at the kiosk and the human passport people was about an hour. But it was slower than normal.

People were having trouble navigating the kiosk.

Just came through CDG. We were herded into the wrong line. When we got o the US passport line there were hundreds waiting to use 6 kiosks. One was out of commission. The others repeatedly gave a message that the passport was denied ask for assistance. There was no one to ask for assistance within sight. We all played a game of going from kiosk to kiosk until one worked. It created more delay and a lot of angst but we made it through. Just a note on CDG-with a 2 hour layover and being fairly brisk walkers we just made our connection.

And for another data point, I came through CDG on Sunday, Air France Sky Priority line. Went to a kiosk, nobody else there, and zipped right through.

Be mindful that at CDG, the "Priority" lane for business class passengers is called "Access 1". For our recent trip, going through Terminal 2A, we headed to that lane with no direction from staff. It was very fast and smooth.

It's a mess. Just got back from Scandinavia and the situation at the Copenhagen airport was ridiculous. Machines not working, lines VERY long and few booths open. They had to pull people out of the lines to make their connections.

Ditto for Frankfurt. When we went through on out way home (6/16) all of the biometric machines were down. They did not pull the people with short connections from the lines and as a result our friend missed her connection to LA. We had a much longer connection and did OK.

We had come from Venice where we were advised that we should do the biometric information in Frankfurt. This was a mistake. There were no lines in Venice. Someone who had done the biometric screening in Venice was permitted to go to the second line. If you have a connection, look for the biometric screening at the first airport. Worst case you will have to do it again. Best case, you will skip the first line.

Came into the US tonight, didn’t even have to do anything walking through immigration. A photo of you is taken as you are walking up to the agent and he just waves you through. Came through a Schengen country today, short quick line. Straight through at Heathrow too.
