Scandinavia Tour July

What are the best men's and ladies clothes for this trip? Do you need a heavy coat or layer up?

July is generally the warmest month throughout the lower elevations of the region. Heavy coats are not required. Layering is my best advice. Merino wool is lightweight and provides exceptional warmth without being bulky. A light jacket, preferably one with a hood, will suffice for outerwear. Footwear with sturdy soles is important as well.

We had quite a bit of rain and the ski lift to the top of a snow covered peak we needed warm clothing.

We were there late June. A quick look at my photos show I’m wearing my puffer jacket quite a bit and I don’t get cold easily. We had quite a bit of rain. You will be going up to the top of a snowy mountain and by glaciers too. Take clothing for any conditions

Everyone's temperature tolerance is different. We went with layering. A wjnd/rain resistant jacket roomy enough for layers, a light zipper jacket and a mix of tops short sleeve to long sleeve. The. You'll likely see a range of weather. One non clothing item to pack is sleep eye masks. There's maybe 4 hours of darkness and several hotels without AC so you can't ful!y shut the curtains to allow airflow.

Hello all, is it necessary to have local currency for this trip? Do you tip the drivers in dollars or their currency? Thank you !
    Happy travels!

Since the Scandinavian countries each have their own currency, it would be cumbersome to carry three (3) different currencies. Tip the tour director and driver(s) in USDs. Since the bulk of your tour is in Norway, you might want some Norwegian krone/kroner for incidentals but it is not necessary. Most Scandinavian cities accept credit cards.

When we were in Norway last year everything we bought was with a wallet on our cell phones. Our physical credit cards were never used. Norway is super modern. 95% of cars are electric. We loved it there.

We did our tour last year and never got any local cash but the TD gave us enough Swedish Krona for meals on our own to tip the first coach driver who left us at the Copenhagen airport. The TD and driver in Norway got USD we'd brought with us.

We just returned from the Scandinavia land tour last month — fabulous! We never had any local currency. Our credit card was all that was needed even for small purchases.
