Speaking of flight reservations, prices for UA/LH flights to Europe dropped about 20% last night (from ~6K to 4K for my itinerary). I just booked at flight for Spring '27 that I've been following on Google Flights for several months. Act quickly!
Tauck has contracts with some airlines for international business class travel. Occasionally they do offer “package deals” for specific tours.
I travel out of and back in to a major hub and have always been pleased with the rates and routes. It is also risk mitigation for me when something goes awry such as the low water levels in Europe right now. Because I always carry the insurance and have Tauck handle my flights, they take care of everything on my behalf. I do not have to deal with the airlines.
Occasionally Tauck offers special rates, but only a certain number so you have to book early. And they do not always have the best or direct routing. Their flights are geared to you getting there in time for when the tour begins.
On one of our first tours when we were not so experienced, they had us go via another city, three flights, when we could have flown the same airline from our city, two flights. After that we learned that is what they might do. Then we started researching and more often book our own flights these days which are most often at a much cheaper price.
Periodically they have a flat rate airfare deal called Take Off with Tauck. It typically comes out in late winter or early spring for European tours later that year. It's usually for economy, premium and business classes. There are restrictions on which tours are covered and they won't go over a certain price range. We were able to use it one year but the next time we couldn't. We don't live near a major airline hub and Taucks air dept couldn't find an itinerary that would work within their limits. Its a good deal if you can get it.
