August 3rd Swiss Alps Rhine River ship swap
Right before we left for the airport we got notification that we would have a ship swap which was inevitable…glad the trip is a go and we won’t be homeless when we get to Zürich…says there won’t be any excursion changes just longer bus rides…and the last three days are as scheduled…
Looking forward to the adventure…but very stressful to get to this point.

We went thru a ship swap several years ago due to a damaged lock that stopped traffic on the Main for a few weeks (blame Viking). Tauck made it very smooth. We just had to repack our bags and have them ready for pick up. Went off on the coach for that day's excursions and arrived at the new ship in exactly the same cabin on the new ship. It was a pain to repack and unpack but not that big a deal.
I'm seeking information regarding the ship swap: How long does it take? Is it an entire day? Does Tauck include an additional excursion during the bus ride? How much of the river do you miss seeing if you do have to do a ship swap?

It surely cannot be as you have at least had to have one tour booked with Tauck to get onto the forum.
