Two days in Nairobi

Due to flight schedule our group will be in Nairobi for two extra days at the conclusion of the K-T safari. Help... what is there to do? Any suggestions?

Don’t know when you are going, but the Blixen house I believe is in Nairobi. You might consider spending a night at Giraff Manor. Friends said it was great. I believe OAT does a safari that starts in Nairobi and tours there first. You could look at their itinerary.

Just don’t plan touring without an escort.

If you haven't had your fill of animals by then I believe there is at least one or two conservancies just outside the city. Nairobi National Park is just south of the city. "Animals include buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, baboon, zebra, wildebeest and cheetah---100 mammal species." It is home to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) Elephant Nursery.

The Giraffe Center is only 40 minutes (15 km) from Nairobi's City Center.

Whatever you do, hire a driver/guide.

The Sheldrake center is only open for one hour each day from 11am to noon.
