I am not 100% sure but I think this is Madrid Spain.
The two travelers are Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.
The statue is Cervantes if my Google skills are still in tune.
(ps - we are in lockdown here in WA until at least May 4th so I don't have too much else to do)

JohnS is correct on all parts. I thought it would be much easier!
AlanS, time to prepare Round 10.

Too late to the party on this one. Was out biking the last couple of hours.

So that's what a blue sky in Madrid looks like. When I was there, it rained every day AND there was a garbage strike.

BKMD - We had great weather, but the King had just abdicated and one night there was a gathering of thousands of anti-monarchists in one of the squares that we had to traverse. Luckily no violence broke out, but I was glad to get through the crowd and back to the hotel.

I remember studying (trying to read) Don Quixote in high school Spanish 3. It was a bear- no plain, simple grammar or vocabulary- it was all idioms- as bad or worse than Shakespeare. There must have been between 10 to 20 or more footnoted idioms per page!! There were pages and pages of explanatory pages at the end of the book. Es la verdad!
