Where would we be in someone didn't point out as Claudia says if the zipper was open or a tag hanging out of a shirt - a laughingstock for others for sure.
Kfnknfzk, yes it is necessary. I’ve seen messages occasionally meant for just one person to see and everyone has the potential to see it. And when itself someone making unkind remarks, that is not good.
Just returned in October from an A&K Greece land tour and it was phenomenal. Since Tauck does not have land tour to Greece, I thought it best to take A&K and was not disappointed. The food was better than I'd had on almost all my other Tauck trips. I think Tauck is often quantity, not quality when it comes to food. Must say, very disappointed with most of the food on Portugal tour and the food on the Swiss tour was awful. Italian destinations have proven to be good. The A&K tour guide was one of my favs although Maria on the Tauck Amalfi Coast tour remains my all-time favorite. No complaints about A&K. My hotel rooms were better with A&K as well. Tauck is less expensive and often better fits our schedules but I really liked A&K and was happy I decided to try them out.
I would really hope that there is a real "wine and dine" tour out there, even more expensive with fewer folks and led by a a real gourmet wine and dine chef for Italy, France, or other excellent location that might be available someday. Too late for me now, but one can still hope.
I went with Tauck for A Week in Portugal and found the food disgusting. We had a lunch at a horse farm with flies all over the casserole. The supposedly foodie tour in Lisbon offered another soupy cassserole in a tiny hillside hole in the wall. Suddenly all the mobility impaired folks have no difficulties climbing into that tiny restaurant where the tables were placed less than 6 inches apart with no air conditioning. Worst of all, the lunch at Evora offered inedible chicken, me ending up with three other guests to McDonalds for lunch instead while rest of the group said the meal was delicious. Don't expect any regional specialties or seafood. Half of the group said they were allergic from Shellfish.
Remember Tauck guests tend to eat a lot of have very bland appetite due to their upbringings. I can never forge Tauck served spaghetti at their farewell dinner in Kyoto.
I went with Tauck for Essence of Japan and the other company for South Korea and Japan. The other company is miles ahead of in term of itinerary, quality of the other guests, quality of the food, quality of the places visited and almost no free time in the afternoon, unlike Tauck. There was a spectacular all seafood meal and another all vegetarian meal with the other company and they were able to accomodate all dietary restrictions.
She is right. Going Tauck saves A LOT OF MONEY and it has better availability due toit offers frequent schedule and mass production.
Going with the other's food tour in January. I quickly notice the clone coming up at the Tauck 2026 preview.
I'm not a foodie so I have never signed up for a tour because of the food. I'm interested in the itinerary and what I'll see and do on a tour.
So far, I haven't had any real issues with the food on any of the Tauck tours, although in India a lot of the cuisine is spiced (hot) more than I prefer. I'm sure the intent was to give us experience with the local cuisine and I accepted it as such, even though I didn't enjoy it that much.
If food is your major concern about a tour, you should search for foodie tours, or, at least, those tours that concentrate on the meals instead of the other things you’ll do on the tour.
[Added note: I can have a wonderful meal in my home town - there are restaurants of every ethnicity you can imagine. I don't need to travel halfway around the world for a meal. I travel half way around the world to see and do things that I can't see and do in my home town.]
There is always Mickey Ds in India, well worth it to try it out. Did try out the Palace McDonalds in Porto and the Kanazawa McDonalds in Kanazawa thanks to Tauck "Spend your afternoon at leisure" philsophy.
By the way, which hometown do you live in that you don't have to travel half way around the world for a meal? What things you cannot do in the good old U.S.A.?
Honestly really getting tired of the constant put down of Tauck guests and the tours by Henrypoon. Serious if you find us so offensive and mundane, you should seek out exciting friends elsewhere. We aren’t here for your derogatory comments.
The luncheon on the ranch in Camarogue (France, not Portugal) was absolutely fabulous in my opinion. I am not fond of buffets, but the assortment of vegetables was amazing and plentiful. And the ranch owners and hands could not have been any more hospitable. Such a memorable day.
I reported this once before...On a land tour in Sweden, a Tauck guest became irate when the tour director refused to stop the bus because he demanded to be allowed to eat at McDonalds. I don't eat American junk food here; I'm certainly not going to eat it abroad. My opinion.
Regarding the exhausting, rude, immature and illiterate posts from the offender, he seems to delight in being irritating. Some people relish attention, even when the feedback is negative. I'll let Tauck handle his inappropriate posts.

tomh wonderful that you had so many tours with Tauck and covered the US and Europe, stay well and keep posting.
tomh - Send me a private message when ready. I would love to hear your story.
kfnknfzk. I would do so, but I do not know how to do it here, only on Facebook (FB). :-)

kfnknfzk. I did so and then filled in the comment box with my story. So I do not know if you received it, read it, or what.
tomh - Received it. I'll message a reply later. Interesting story.
Tom, you posted in the wrong part of Kfnknfzk’s profile, everyone can see your story 😀😀
British - Was that really necessary?
British, I bet you tell people when they have food stuck in their teeth or their zipper is undone. Of course, most normal people would.

[We're not foodies, but we were in Cremona many years back and went to Dal Pescatore Restaurant in a small town outside of Cremona. Highly rated, but VERY expensive. https://www.mikeandjudytravel.com/2015Italy-01.htm#DalPescatore ]
