Cruise early April 2024 weather?
Experiences please. The early May date is booked and we have a conflict for the rest of May and June. Am concerned early April will be cold and rainy.

Weather is weather and changes from year to year. We use Weatherspark too.
We may have just been lucky when we did Blue Danube (eastbound) 12 - 23 April 2018- we had beautiful weather- just a little rain at the start in Prague (but had blue skies there during pre-tour private walking tour and a private excursion to Cesky Krumlov.) Temps were mild, at most, we needed a lightweight jacket or sleeveless fleece vest. The weather was perfect for the optional 26 mi. bike ride from Englehardtzell. It rained during the bus ride to Saltzburg but stopped before we arrived and then just overcast. The weather was good in the Wachau Valley at Weisenkirken and Durstein, and perfect in Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest!!
The grass was green, trees were leafed out and/or budding or blooming and Spring flowers were in bloom. Check out the blue skies!! (I selected the photos I posted here to illustrate the weather. It was a fantastic river cruise.)
Alan - Hopefully you got to dance with Gilly (orange top and sunglasses) at some point. She's a good dancer. We had her as one of our TDs on the Iceland tour.
Beautiful pictures and weather and yes you were lucky. This departure is a week earlier and I think I am afraid to roll the dice on the weather. My husband isn't a fan of chilly weather. Thank you so much for responding.
FYI we did the "Cuising Down Under" just before COVID in early 2020, and loved it.
Thanks for the great photos, Alan. I am on this trip beginning 4-3-2024 and have traveled Europe and this area in the past, and I have found the weather in April usually really nice.
I did the Blue Danube in April 2015 and had great weather.

@AlanS - really nice pictures. What did you use to take them? Smartphone or which camera?
All of the pictures were very sharp focus.
Older Canon EOS SL1 with 16 - 300 mm Tamron lens- the only lens I ever use anymore. The light was fading so I think I did a tad bit of post-processing on the photo of the Parliament.
