I'm sure, like Pisa, Bologna tower's imminent fall will likely happen soon, or sometime in the next 1000 years!
The Garisenda Tower, the one in danger, leans at 4° like Pisa. At 154", It isn't as tall as the tower in Pisa (186'), but is a little less than half as tall as the adjacent Asinelli Tower which is 319' and leans as well. Neither are looking good, however.
Garisenda Tower (l) and Asinelli Tower (r) in Bologna:
Many don't know that the bell tower in St. Marks Square in Venice collapsed into pile of bricks in 1902 but was rebuilt in 1912.
We all now get 3 credits for taking Professor Alan's Italian history class. Good job Alan and thanks for the details and pictures.
Leonardo must be rolling over in his grave. Or maybe he rolled out of it...
