Tip for Elegant SA

Please advise total R to have ready for this trip, is there 1 or more guides or tour directors and drivers to have gratuity. I assume in R and not USD?

  • 0 R. Tip in USD $

  • I asked our TD what currency he preferred. He was a native South African who preferred his tip in USD.

Yes, tip in dollars. Everyone’s tip, apart from the TD is included on the tour. You can tip more if you like.

  • CP looks like lots of rain end of July packing rain jacket

  • What about needing a small amount of R for small purchases like bottled water or snacks?

  • Bottled water is provided. Never had cause to eat a snack on a Tauck tour, you are bombarded with food.

  • In 27 tours I never bought a snack or water, water.

  • British - Never had cause to eat a snack on a Tauck tour, you are bombarded with food.

That's the discipline of a Tauck swimsuit model!! 😁

  • Just finishing up SA. We brought a small amount of Rand - about $200 US dollars worth - and it was very very handy. You don't need to trip anyone on Tauck except your tour director, they take care of everything. But if you add on your own arranged tours before or after, the cash is handy for that. We also used if for small trinket souvenir purchases,
water and mints at the airport, stuff like that where you don't want to have to take our your credit card, the amount is so low. In Johannesburg we were taken to an outdoor market where local vendors have their tent shops with their handmade goods, you definitely needed the Rand for that.
