la Sagrada Familia ... Barcelona

From reading my Tauck "Personal Travel Documents" I have the distinct impression that the "guided visit" of la Sagrada Familia in Barcelona translates to a visit to the interior of the cathedral. Am I correct about this or do I need to purchase separate tickets to see the interior? In other words, this isn't a 'drive-by' is it???

    Call Tauck up.

I just went on a private journey with another company and they could not confirm its availability until the 24 hours before. Luckily i got in with the workshop and crypt visit. It was truly amazing. My tour guide said they will not allow any group more than 30 these days.

I telephoned Tauck earlier today. The representative confirmed that an visit to the interior of la Sagrada Familia is indeed included in the itinerary. :)

We just returned from A Week in Spain tour adding two days at the beginning and end. The tour was awesome overall with one exception. Two weeks prior to departure we were notified that Tauck was unable to provide the guided tour inside Sagrada Familia. With such short notice we were unable to secure tickets for an inside guided tour on the official website but were able to reserve tickets on Tripadvisor. We had booked our Tauck tour almost a year ago so we would have had plenty of time to reserve a just in case spot had we known of the limited availability of tickets. I would recommend travelers reserve a spot on Tripadvisor during their free time and cancel should Tauck obtain access. Tripadvisor allows cancellation if made 24 hours before the tour date whereas the official site does not. We had made a second reservation in case we missed the first one which was on our arrival date but made it easily. Cancellation of the second reservation was quick and painless.

P.S. I forgot to mention that Sercotel Rosellon is a hotel one block over from Sagrada Familia with a rooftop bar with a great view. There is a 7E/person charge for access and a minimum order requirement. Our reservation was canceled by the hotel due to rain, but they refunded our payment. Reservation highly recommended.

We went with Tauck to Sagrada last year on our Northern Spain trip. Luckily, I had been there several times over the years because I would have been disappointed in the short time Tauck was there (I was still disappointed)). From the outside, to the interior, to the crypt and workshops, below, to taking the elevator up to go outside takes a lot of well spent time. If you go on your own and decide to go up the towers, be aware that while my husband and I thought it would be fun to walk down, our knees were starting to turn to jello by the end. Also, on another trip with my female friends trip, one person became upset when a fear of heights kicked in.

All this makes me glad we did Barcelona on our own. The Sagrada was amazing using just the audio guide. Didn't have any interest in going up towers. The beauty, craftsmanship and level of biblical details blew me away.

as I did this tour many years ago... with Tauck, we did visit the interior.

For the Northern Spain tour I took in 2010 (gosh 16 years ago) even though Tauck included a visit to the inside of The Sagrada, like Claudia I also went on my own and it was amazing, it does blow you away.
