bridge walk to Zambia

Any previous Elegant Adventure Taucksters ? - On day 11, we plan to take the helicopter ride over the falls. Will there be time to walk the bridge to Zambia before heading to elephant sanctuary ? How close is hotel to the bridge ? If bidge walk not practical on Day 11, how about the Day 12 journey home day - will there be time in morning to walk the bridge before trip to airport ( what time is flight from Victoria Falls to Jo'burg ) ??? thx in advance !!!

I did the tour in April. Here were the Day 11 and Day 12 events/times.

Per Google Maps it is a 35 minute walk from the Victoria Falls Hotel to the bridge.

For the last few hundred yards as you near the bridge, expect to be accosted by street vendors! We walked from Zambia to Zimbabwe during the Botswana tour.

Or you could zipline half way to the border over the river which is what my husband did!

Thx for the replies. Can always depend on Sam, Alan, and British for info. Thinking of skipping high tea and using that time to trek to bridge with another Tauck couple. ( is High Tea worth taking a pass ?? ) Tauck now encourages Visa for Zimbabwe and only good for 30 days from approval. So gotta wait until mid August to apply. This TN lad will pass on the zip line. Haha!!

It's too bad High Tea is the same day as the farewell dinner. On my tour last fall, many folks skipped high tea - feeling that our good sized lunch at the elephant sanctuary and then the farewell dinner was enough food. I spent the time packing for next day departure, since there was an interesting lecture that morning.

cuzin GJ - Your call on the high tea. Here are a couple of photos of people that partook of the High Tea (we passed).

cuzin GJ - forgot, but if zip line isn't your thing then since you'll be at the bridge anyway you can try bungee jumping. If you look closely you can see the bungee jumpers in the photo below.

Smiling Sam. Even after a few bourbons, I’ll pass on bungee. The helicopter ride will be my high point ! Goddess is correct, plenty to eat. Tauck trips require elastic waist bands. Leaving all sport coats at home.

It’s years since we took the tour. It was really bad timing to have a big lunch and an early farewell dinner scheduled with a chance for high tea on the same day. Judging by the photos, it looked like a run of the mill food selection but of course the view amazing. And where are the china cups and saucers?? Tea tastes much better from china. Just have a cup of tea and enjoy the view.
Book a trip to London or Bath and enjoy high tea there. It’s all just a tourist thing anyway.

High Teas are everywhere. 😁 Been to them in Victoria, Canada, Singapore, and Hanoi, Vietnam as examples.

I remember that we spent time at the pool, rather than high tea.
