Tauck is now running ads on Fox News. They are showing their videos so very little production costs. Trying to keep up with Viking??

Fox News, who watches Fox News? Do you want to vacation with someone who watches Fox news 😂😂😂😂
I’ve seen the ads on the online New York Times.
I have seen a few ads on you tube
The new generation of Tauck management has a different approach than in the past. Things evolve.
You hate to comment or else it will seem like you're auditioning for the Progressive commercial about becoming your Parents (which I think are kind of humorous).
Just saw a Tauck ad on Fox and 15 mins. later here comes a Viking ad. Competition baby.
I liked the comment the travel agent guy made: "Viking is the Carnival of river cruising."
[Meaning Carnival Cruise Line.]
He was correct in his comment and I would agree that there is absolutely no competition or comparison between Viking and Tauck.
My preferred traveling companions read the NYT and they watch Fox news. It’s fun to compare. (;-)
I agree with Sealord. We also watching BBC, Canada news and news from the Middle East.
I se Tauck ads in Instagram all the time.
I am biting my tongue so hard that it is bleeding.
Fact vs fiction?
I have only had experience with politics once on a Tauck vacation. We were sitting with a couple who we had had several meals with. Another couple arrived and our couple said in a very nasty and derogatory way, ..here come the Trump people, this was during Trump’s first term. We were horrified that they were so nasty. I believe we are all entitied to free speech, that’s what makes America so awesome. my former comment was in this spirit and not nasty. We are all entitled to our own opinions.
This is not a political website, it is a travel website. The comment about seeing a Tauck add on Fox news I think was not political. I think several posts after that crossed the line. Let’s put that to bed. (;-)
Sealord, you are correct. I was commenting on the fact that I have not seen Tauck advertise so much. I will gladly travel with anyone regardless of where they obtain their news.
A Tauck ad popped up in an unexpected place today. Since we're going on the Scandinavia tour this summer I've been studying Swedish on Duolingo. If you've never heard of it, Duolingo is a mobile app to learn languages. It's a bit of a silly app geared for all ages but actually fairly effective. Since I use the free version I get occasional ads. The Tauck ad/video was short. A travel ad in a language learning app makes a lot of sense.
Travel should not be political. That said, I see that Rick Steves is now involved in fundraising that I don't agree with. He should stick with what he knows.
Rick Steves has been an activist for various causes for many years. It's nothing new. He still produces excellent guide books, videos, etc for travel and most people who have taken his tours are very happy with them. We all have the right to support businesses who's philosophies we agree with or boycott them if we don't.
Amen, Claudia.
I have seen three video ads in the past few days.
One begins with Antarctica. The second begins with a shot of a pyramid and the third highlights river cruising.
They also all include mention of the special airfares that are in effect for bookings by the end of February.
Rick Steves is fundraising for Bread for the World, a non-partisan organization that fights hunger. He does this through his network of traveling friends and through his radio and TV program. If you don't like it you don't have to watch it or participate.
Rick also built an apartment complex in 2005 to provide transitional housing for homeless mothers & kids. It was a partnership with YWCA and in 2017 he gave it to the Y as his business was successful enough he didn't need the asset to fund his retirement.
If feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, providing healthcare to women, promoting education, supporting the arts and working for a cleaner environment are politically motivated endeavors, I think we need more Rick Steveses in this world.
26 Feb - modified to indicate pluralization of surname.
I would imagine they’re choosing the network that gives them the most exposure to target demographic. I see my Viking ads on PBS which would also be a great place to reach those over 55
We always fast forward over the Viking ads. I don’t like their buy now, get it half price tactics etc etc
It is always fun to see the people in Portugal who are pictured in the ad after seeing them in person on the Douro River cruise I took. One woman loved balancing a beer bottle on her head.
That's what I don't get about Tauck choosing Fox News. It's clearly a Trump-centric network, and the polls showed the vast majority of his supporters are lower income and less educated, which certainly isn't the Tauck demographic. Of course there are exceptions to that, but the key word is majority. If I were Tauck, I'd go after the Masterpiece Theatre crowd, rather than the Nascar crowd. To those of you who think this is a political comment, it's not. It's about demographics.
😂😂😂. BKMD … if you don’t think that post was ‘political’, you need to learn how to read your own lips. Once again … put it to bed. We talk about travel here, and the ‘majority’ couldn’t care less about your political perspective.
wildcat - Ratings are irrelevant if it's not the target market. How many Rolls Rotce EVs do you think would sell via Fox News ads?
