    2022 - Essence of Japan

I am waiting to book 2023 until I have clarity on whether the Japan trip will actually go this year.

  • I don’t think Japan will open up sufficiently this year. They don’t really need tourist dollars. We are booked with another company and they already cancelled their planned September 2022 tour. We booked the 2023 tour a couple of years ago when our 2020 tour was cancelled.

  • I would tend to agree. Currently, the website lists all tours canceled through September 15 which was advanced from the previous date of June 30. Also, they have definitively canceled the small ship cruise trips to Japan for the entire year so I don't quite understand the difference there.

  • 5 taken, 2 booked this summer and a river cruise booked 2023.

    OMG COVID
2022 -- India and Nepal (soon gogogo!)
2024 -- Egypt/Petra (As soon as it opens for booking!)

The Costa Rica tour sold us on Tauck. We were looking for a tour company for that country, and my wife said..."Hey, take a look at this by some company named 'Tauck'. Haha. We've never had anything other than a fabulous experience with this company.

  • That’s awesome ChrisW12. My mother’s friend raved about Tauck especially the way they handled getting everyone out of Christchurch, New Zealand after the earthquake there. We’ve had some great trips with them. Not as many as the majority on here, but I’m working on it. :-)

  • Very impressive. I guess I'm not so organized. Q: How do you all have this information so readily available? I don't see past Tauck tours in my file. I seek out specialized travel, so have traveled with about 10 different companies over 25 years or so, in addition to independent travel for even longer. I have online folders labeled by country, but not by tour company. So it would be a bit of work to track this down.

  • I have it all on a spreadsheet. Do you want to know what the deposit or the insurance were in 2016 for Classic Italy? :D:D

  • edited July 2022

I can see my list of tours from my photos directory. Each folder name are year and tour.
    For example:

Smiling Sam wins the organizational prize with yours listed in a spreadsheet with rankings and other info. I'm surpised AlanS doesn't have something smiliar, or does he?

edited to add - Alan posted his spreadsheet comment as I was typing my question wondering about that :)

  • I have a chronological list by date and by year starting in the early 1990’s of everywhere we’ve been.
